HIGH POINT MARKET

Hi everyone!

Today I want to talk about one of the most important events of the year for interior designers. Twice a year for a couple of days thousands of designers visit the latest home furnishing trade show in the world. High Point Market is held in High Point, North Carolina which is pretty much a small town that goes dormant with exception of the two weeks during exhibit. High Point is over 10 million square feet,  roughly 2000 exhibitors, and 180 buildings filled with home furnishings! It’s a lot of ground to cover during those couple of days.

Attending High Point Market, as a designer, is extremely important for many reasons. First, it allows me to see the newest trends in furniture. As a designer, I want to know what is in and what is out. Being ahead in trends is very important, but finding items that are timeless and still relevant are just as important. Also I get to touch and sit on all the furniture to understand it’s quality before sourcing to my clients. With thousands of exhibitors it can get a little overwhelming, but it is always so rewarding when I find a new exhibitor I really love.

As a professional , I make it a priority to attend as many events like these as I can, so I can continually educate myself. I want my clients to know that I am aware of trends, have understanding of the quality of products I am suggesting, and on the lookout for the newest and best products on the market.
