THIS PROJECT GAVE US THE GOOD KINDA BLUES

Every once in a while we get a blue hued enthusiast who, much like ourselves here at Dream Windows & Interiors, dreams in this gorgeous color.  After all, the Hamptons is filled with blue skies, seas and hydrangeas galore.  It is only fitting! This Southampton homeowner wanted a graceful and refined design aesthetic, which presented somewhat of a challenge when utilizing so much of the same color, but we were more than than happy to oblige! We love how it turned out.  Take a look! The formal living room needed to provide ample seating for entertaining yet not overwhelm the room in color. We chose to upholster the larger sitting pieces in a dark blue fabric and add lighter, blue patterns to the smaller sitting pieces to compliment the space yet not overpower it.   Custom white window treatments gave the refined room a softer look, and we accented them with blue tie backs to go with the overall color scheme.  Keeping the accessories to a minimum as to not overcrowd the gorgeous furnishings, we chose blue base lamps for color and soft floral arrangements. An abstract print over the fireplace consisting of all the rooms’ colors, including the one mahogany console table, gracefully tied it all together. Silver vinyl grasscloth envelopes the room and two antique silver mirrors finish off the space.

We absolutely love the kitchen. A white wash brick wall oversees the table surrounded by a bold print fabric covering the  dining chairs.  Just enough punch of color. The coastal inspired globe pendant over the dining table added a warmer element to the casual dining space in the heart of the home.   Interior Designer in Westhampton NY   In the bedroom she opted for pattern on pattern so we had to marry blues in various hues without creating an overly busy look. Blue grasscloth wallcoverings became our starting point in designing the room.  To break up the wall color, we accented with simple, patterned blue and white custom roman shades.  The sitting chairs were upholstered in a strong, blue pattern but softened with white pillows with blue a floral print.  We created the opposite effect at the end of the bed going with one color on the upholstered bench and the strong pops of color with the accent pillows. Crisp white bed linens and off white bedside tables offset the blue tones.  Now, she can really dream in blue!   The traditional dining room got a striking makeover.  The dining furniture was dear to the client’s heart and so coming up with a way to marry the blue obsession had to be tasteful yet classy.  We re-upholstered the chair cushions in a deep indigo Romo fabric and added an area rug by Stark with minimal pattern underfoot.  We did get crazy with a gorgeous, patterned wallcovering and drapery by Thibaut but the design was just enough to keep the space classy and elegant.  The oversized chandelier completed the look with a refined graceful touch. Thubuat wallcovering in home designed by Dream Windows and Interiors. We pride ourselves on being able to meet a challenge and satisfy the client’s wishes, no matter what color or design style they prefer. Let us know what you think of this project! Cheers, Diane
